Looking for a heartwarming experince? We have justthe thing.
The Special Olympics Unified Sports Program is a is a fast- growing initiative that brings people with and without intellectual disabilities together on the same team to compete.
What you will see at the high school is two teams one from Frederick and the other from Skyline. The teams have students of all abilities working together to compete at basketball. The stands will be filled with FHS students cheering for BOTH teams. The event is heartwarming!
About 1.4 million people worldwide take part in Unified Sports, breaking down stereotypes about people with intellectual disabilities in a really fun way.
